Communities are under attack, basic rights are being ignored, and the most vulnerable amongst us are being pushed into the abyss. Resistance isn’t enough in this moment. We need to take care of one another. And we need to continue fighting for the world we want and deserve.

Protect & Progress is a collective of community organizations, advocates, local businesses, and everyday residents standing together in the face of rising authoritarianism, systemic injustice, and political violence and cruelty. We are grounded in bold empathy and uncompromising action.

We Believe

We must protect our communities from harm and injustice.

We must progress — toward dignity, justice, safety, and joy for all.

We reject the idea that our futures must be defined by fear, division, or retreat. Instead, we commit to building a San Diego — and a model for the nation — where every person is safe, valued, and free.

This is about more than immigration.

Yes, we protect against deportations, raids, and the dehumanization of immigrants — but Protect & Progress is for everyone.

We protect workers struggling to afford housing.

We protect seniors living in fear that their health care will be taken away. 

We protect LGBTQ+ families, renters, union members, artists, caregivers, and anyone fighting to live with dignity.

And we never stop dreaming of, and fighting for, the progress toward the better future that we all deserve.

The Meaning

of Our Logo

Our logo was designed by San Diego artist Josue Baltezar Jr. Each element is symbolic of who we are and what we stand for.
